Leprechaun Shenanigans

Can you believe it?!?!? Lucky Leprechaun came to visit our classroom... He had us on the hunt for his gold! Too bad we didn't catch him! Maybe next year!!!

We started the day off with a two hour delay... SERIOUSLY?!?! Snow in March!! Ready.For.Spring... that's all I have to say about that!!!

We always begin the day with math, so we had fun exploring area and perimeter with Lucky Charms.  You see no marshmallows in the picture because we ate them all!!
While we were at lunch.... Lucky destroyed our classroom!  The kids weren't sure why Lucky decided to put chairs on the tables!!!
He played in our markers, slates, coins, and base ten blocks!!!
And... He put a bench on the computers... YIKES!!

The kids were thrilled that Lucky left them a note and a book to record their inferences and predictions.

We had to use clues from the poem and our background knowledge to infer and make a prediction of where we thought Lucky might be....

Too bad... Lucky told us that we had to complete an assignment before we could open the next clue. At clue #2 Lucky left us a noun, verb, and adjective sort.

Of course, after completing our assignment and reading the clue we completed a page in our book of inferences and predictions!  I have to say.... this activity was fun, but also perfect for reinforcing using "clues" from the text to infer and draw conclusions.

So... Lucky took us to the teacher's desk, the water fountain, the classroom library, the gym, the office, and then to the playground.  We didn't catch Lucky but he did leave us a treat in our classroom.  Actually... Lucky forgot the special cookies at home so Skittles had to do!!!!
